Mrežnica Adventure

The abundance of waterfalls, greenery and clear, hot water – this is Mrežnica! It deserves a special place among the rivers of the Croatian karst. It is one of the most beautiful rivers in Croatia, ideal for rafting and kayaking adventures.

At Mrežnica you can enjoy our excursions for up to several days. It is usually sailed between Generalski Stol and Zvečaj, on the edge of the wilderness and civilization: it starts from the bridge in Keići and ends at the “DP” restaurant next to our Rafting Center. Swimming and conquering waterfalls are integral parts of the excursion.

The equipment we use

We use kayaks – a model for two adults and one child. Kayaks are very stable and easy to use. Each group has one or two guides (depending on the size). In the boat there is also a waterproof bag or container (barrel) for waterproofing cameras and the like. Each participant gets the necessary equipment – helmet, paddle and protective vest, and in case of colder or windy time, additional protective equipment – neoprene suit, anorak.

Trip program

Upon arrival to the “DP” restaurant and Rafting Center “Terra Croatica” in Zvečaj, guests receive personal equipment – vests and helmets, and in the cooler weather of neoprene pants, anoraks and boots. After a half-hour break for refreshment and toilet, we continue to the river by bus, van (for smaller groups) or personal vehicles. At the bridge at the Generalski Stol, we will change into gear and prepare for following activities. Rafting/kayaking starts around noon and lasts for 2-3 hours, with a few shorter breaks for rest and swimming in waterfalls. Clear and, in the summer, warm river, is 1-2 class of white river water (wild water). It is a suitable trip for families with children or group excursions. The voyage ends in Zvečaj

Location: Zvečaj, River Mrežnica

Group size: min 4 / max 30 persons per group; larger groups on request; if the group has less than 4 people, and the client wants the trip to be held anyway, the price of the trip increases by 20% per person.

What items you need to bring:  Due to the climatic conditions, we suggest you bring a shirt with you (for colder weather shirt with long sleeves ), swimwear, towels, spare socks, sandals or sneakers for water, hat, creams and sunglasses (tie them with a string) for sun protection and a waterproof camera. We also suggest that you carry spare clothing and footwear.

Additional info

After embarking at the bridge at the Generalski Stol, the trip begins with rowing upstream to the waterfall in Keici (it is possible to jump, record and swim at the waterfall) depending on the water level and the estimation of the skipper. After that, we begin with rowing downstream, to Zvečaj where we have a dozen rapids to cross. In between the waterfalls River Mrežnica is calm and very suitable for swimming. At higher altitudes or if desired, we organize rafting, and in the summer kayaking excursions. Take personalized items like your T-shirt, swimsuit or underwear, towel, sandals or water boots; for a colder weather shirt with long sleeves. If you wear glasses, attach them with a strap or similar. Travel organizers are not responsible for lost, damaged or missing items. It is essential that participants know how to swim and to follow the guide-skipper’s instructions to avoid endangering yourselves and travelling companions. The Skipper has the obligation and the right not to allow boarding the boat to persons who he assesses to be under the influence of alcohol or narcotics. We do not return money in this case. Each group has an experienced skipper in charge of training and safety. In the boat there is also a waterproof bag or a container for cameras and the like.

Canceling a Trip by Terra Croatica Adventure Travel

In case of extreme weather conditions, Terra Croatica Adventure Travel reserves the right to delay the date of performance of the activity, if possible for a day or two before or after the booked date. If the change of dates is not possible, your payments will be fully refunded. You can read other travel conditions on Terms of business.

Ovisno o vremenskim Depending on the weather conditions and the water level, the Terra Croatica Adventure Travel tour is performed with the appropriate boats:

Climate: Spring and summer are usually warm and sunny. From May to October temperatures are pleasant for nature activities. Rainy periods are always a possibility, so keep warm and suitable clothes with you.
