NORTH VELEBIT NATIONAL PARK

A adventure with full lungs. The diversity of karst phenomena and flora and fauna are only part of the special picture of this natural whole. Within the park there are strict reserves Hajdučki and Rožanski kukovi, Lukina jama – one of the deepest caves in the world (discovered in 1999), botanical reserve “Visibaba” with endemic Croatian Siberia (Sibiraea altaiensis ssp. Croatica), forest reserve Borov vrh, botanical Zavižan-Balinovac-Velika kosa reserve and the famous Velebit Botanical Garden. In the extreme south there is a special reserve of forest vegetation Štirovača. The park is intersected by numerous hiking trails, the most famous of which is the Premužić trail. The area of ​​the park is 109 km². An adventure to wish for.

Climate – spring and summer are mostly warm and sunny. From May to October the temperatures are pleasant for staying and outdoor activities. There is always the possibility of rainy periods, so it is necessary to bring appropriate clothing and footwear in case of bad weather.
