Experience with us an untold story of the Slunj region about the untamed and wild Mrežnica. We will take you through some of the most beautiful waterfalls, rapids and travertine barriers. On our tour from Čiča Bridge to Tržič Bridge, we will row for more than 5 km to cross 26 barriers and rapids, which is covering one third of the 93 tidal barriers of a total flow of 64 km of “turquoise karst beauty”. After a wide and spacious shallow stream we come to the magnificent Rončević waterfall.

Immediately after Rončević’s waterfall, under the steep cliffs that formed a short gorge, the fascinating Milković Waterfall (8 m) is located, which takes the breath away from every visitor or seeker of the untouched. This is the second-largest waterfall on Mrežnica, flowing all the way to Smoljanović waterfall, i.e. the bridge in Tounjski Tržić. It is among the most beautiful waterfalls on Mrežnica, due to its form and the way it practically leads the water over a small “slide” formed in the middle of the waterfall, that is only notable during low water levels. It is precisely in this part, of only 1.2 km of flow, as many as 9 waterfalls were are squeezed in a narrow densely overgrown canyon, covered with white rocks, that only briefly lets sunlight in. In this part of the stream a powerful spring is located that in the summer reduces the temperature of Mrežnica for about 6-7°C. The influence of this spring is felt almost 5 kilometers downstream, which is evident in different vegetation along the river and waterfalls and other forms of sedentary phenomena. That’s where our karst adventure ends.

The equipment we use

We use kayaks – a model for two adults and one child. Kayaks are very stable and easy to use. Each group has one or two guides (depending on the size). In the boat there is also a waterproof bag or container (barrel) for waterproofing cameras and the like. Each participant gets the necessary equipment – helmet, paddle and protective vest, and in case of colder or windy time, additional protective equipment – neoprene suit, anorak.

Group size: min 4 / max 30 persons per group; larger groups on request; if the group has less than 4 people, and the client wants the trip to be held anyway, the price of the trip increases by 20% per person

What items you need to bring: Due to the climatic conditions, we suggest you bring a shirt with you (for colder weather shirt with long sleeves ), swimwear, towels, spare socks, sandals or sneakers for water, hat, creams and sunglasses (tie them with string) for sun protection and a waterproof camera. We also suggest that you carry spare clothing and footwear.

Additional info

It is essential that participants know how to swim and to follow the guide-skipper’s instructions to avoid endangering yourselfs and travelling companions. The Skipper has the obligation and the right not to allow boarding the boat to persons who he assesses to be under the influence of alcohol or narcotics. We do not return money in this case. Each group has an experienced skipper in charge of training and safety. In the boat there is also a waterproof bag or a container for cameras and the like. Terra Croatica Adventure Travel is not responsible for damaging or losing your personal belongings.

Canceling a Trip by Terra Croatica Adventure Travel

In case of extreme weather conditions, Terra Croatica Adventure Travel reserves the right to delay the date of performance of the activity, if possible for a day or two before or after the booked date. If the change of dates is not possible, your payments will be fully refunded. You can read other travel conditions on Terms of business.

Depending on the weather conditions and the water level, Terra Croatica Adventure Travel tour is performed with the appropriate boats:

• raft capacity of 6-10 persons

Climate: Spring and summer are usually warm and sunny. From May to October temperatures are pleasant for nature activities. Rainy periods are always a possibility, so keep warm and suitable clothes with you.
